Management of golf leagues and circuits

Any user registered with Play2Golf can create a golf league or circuit.

Temporarily all the functionality of the competitions is free.

Leagues and circuits are multi-day competitions. If you want to organize a one-day competition, you must do it through the competitions option.

Create a league

Accessing the option of 'My leagues and circuits', in the 'Organized' tab there is a button for 'Create new league / circuit'.

Basic configuration

When creating the league we must fill in the basic configuration in the 'Settings' tab.

• Name: Name of the league / circuit
• Status: League status. Initially it will be put in 'PENDING' state. The available states are as follows:
  • PENDING: The league is pending to start
  • PLAYING: The league is being played. The league moves to this status when the first competition associated with this league ends. It can also be assigned manually.
  • FINALIZED: The league is over. It must be assigned manually.
  • CANCELED: The league has been annulled for some reason. The reason for cancellation will be requested, which will be displayed on the website if the league has public visibility configured.
• Start date: Date of the first competition of the league.
• End date: Date of the last competition of the league.
• Modality: Game mode.
• Visibility: Settings for the link to be visible or not on the web page. If it is set to PUBLIC, the data of the link can be viewed on the website. If it is set to PRIVATE, only players registered in the league will be able to view the data once they have identified themselves in Play2Golf.
• Website description: Description displayed on the web page.

Advanced settings

When creating the link, additional configuration data can be entered in the 'Advanced' tab.

• Add from competitions: Status assigned to new players when they register from competitions. Players can be participants or guests of the league. Only the participating players are those shown in the different league rankings.
• Show member number: If the league is to be played by partners, it allows you to configure whether the membership number is displayed in the list of players and league rankings.
• Show nickname: If the league is to be played by partners, it allows you to configure if the member's nickname is displayed if it has one assigned to it
• Header image: Allows you to indicate a header image that will be displayed on the main page of the competition on the website.

Associated documents

It is allowed to associate documents and images to the leagues, which will be available on the website for players to download.

Only documents and photos with the following extensions are allowed: PDF, JPG, GIF, PNG

Maximum size: 3 Mb

Categories

The categories are the different classifications of results that are associated with the prize in the league. They are configured in the 'Categories' tab.

The 'New category' button allows you to register a category and manually enter all the configuration data.

The 'STABLEFORD' button creates a category of type STABLEFORD with the default values, which can then be modified.

The 'SCRATCH' button creates a category of type SCRATCH with the default values, which can then be modified.

The following information can be entered in the modification form of a category:

• Name: The name of the category.
• Gender: Permite configurar el sexo de los jugadores que se van a incluir de forma automática en la categoría: ALL, MEN, WOMEN
• Handicap range: It allows you to configure the handicap range of the players who are going to be automatically included in the category.
• Age range: It allows you to configure the age range of the players who are going to be automatically included in the category. If an age range is indicated, in order for players to be included in the category, they must have the date of birth indicated on the player card.
• Type score: Indicates the type of score for the category:
  • POINTS: To calculate the ranking of the players, the stableford points will be taken into account. To calculate the number of points of the players in the league, the results by points of the players in the competitions they have played will be added, taking into account the discards that are indicated to calculate the classification.
  • SHOTS: To calculate the classification of the players, the hits given will be taken into account.. To calculate the number of strokes of the players in the league, the results per stroke of the players in the competitions they have played will be added, taking into account the discards that are indicated to calculate the classification.
  • RESULT: To calculate the ranking of the players, the net result in each of the competitions in which the player has participated will be taken into account.
  • Nº PAIRS: To calculate the classification of the players, the number of pairs achieved in each of the competitions in which the player has participated will be taken into account.
  • Nº PAIRS OR BETTER: To calculate the classification of the players, the number of pairs or best results achieved in each of the competitions in which the player has participated will be taken into account.
  • Nº BIRDIES OR BETTER: To calculate the classification of the players, the number of birdies or best result achieved in each of the competitions in which the player has participated will be taken into account. Allows you to set whether an eagle counts as a double birdie.
  • POINTS ORDER OF MERIT: To calculate the ranking of the players, the points they have earned in each competition are taken into account. The points must be indicated in each competition by incorporating them through an external file in excel format. You can specify the number of decimal places to display the points in the order of merit.
• Apply handicap: It allows you to configure whether or not the players' handicap is taken into account to calculate the ranking. This way you can configure categories that take into account the handicap and others that work without handicap (scratch).
• Apply discards: In the case of classifications by number of pairs, number of pars or better, number of birdies or better, it is allowed to configure whether the classification is calculated having the discards of the worst results or not.
• Order: The order in which the category is displayed in the category list on the league information page on the website.
• Nº winners: Nº of awarded players in this category. The winning players will be highlighted from the rest of the players.

Players

In the 'Players' tab you can manage the players signed up for the league.

Add player:

• Add registered player: It allows any user registered in Play2Golf to be added to the league. A box will be displayed to search for the player, typing their name or license number. To the right of the box, a button will be displayed in case we want to use the user search engine. When selecting the user, a screen with the player's data will be displayed. We must press the 'Save' button to add it to the league.
• Add member: It allows you to add any member you have registered in Play2Golf to the league. This option will only be shown if we have registered a partner or friend. A box will be displayed to search for the player, typing their name or license number. To the right of the box, a button will be displayed in case we want to use the user search engine. When selecting the user, a screen with the player's data will be displayed. We must press the 'Save' button to add it to the league.
• Import players from another league/circuit: It allows you to import all players who signed up for another league/circuit organized by the user.
• Import players (Excel Play2Golf): Allows you to import the players included in an excel file.
  
  • You can download a sample excel file.
  • You only have to indicate in the excel file the license and the country of the license of the players to be registered.

Processes:

• Export Players (Excel Play2Golf): It allows you to export player data in Excel format.

Competitions

In the 'Competitions' tab you can manage the competitions that make up the league.

When you create a new competition from here, you will automatically be associated with the league.

In the list, for each competition a button is displayed to access the configuration of the competition.

It allows to separate the competition from the league. It doesn't erase the competition, it just removes the association to the league.

Classification

In the 'Ranking' tab you can calculate and consult the classification of the players in the league, of the different categories configured.

The 'Recalculate' button allows you to recalculate the results of the players in the league.

• Only competitions that have ended are taken into account.
• If desired, discards can be made, indicating the number of competitions that score to calculate the final result.
• For example, if you have played 11 competitions and you want to discard the 3 worst results, you will have to indicate 8 as 'Number of competitions score', so that the other 3 are not taken into account for the final calculation.
• Pressing the 'Recalculate' button recalculates the result of all the result rankings configured in the league.

You can check any classification configured in the league.
